Before applying the ointment to the skin, it is recommended to wash the affected area with soap-free Water and dry it well. The ointment is applied in a thin layer on the skin so that it does not clog the pores. Apply the calendula ointment 2-3 times a day (or as needed), gently rubbing it into the skin for 2 to 3 minutes.
Literally anyone can use calendula ointment: this ointment is suitable for dry skin as well as normal and sensitive skin.
Proper application of the ointment helps to increase their subsequent effect.
Thanks to its content of active plant Extracts, calming , soothing, regenerating and granulating effects on the skin are excellent. The ointment can be used as a massaging agent. Regular masSage from the ankles towards the knees has a beneficial effect on the blood vessels of the lower limbs.
Marigold ointment also helps with skin care (e.g. for sunburn, eczema or other skin problems). It is also very useful for hard skin, as it tightens the skin very effectively. Marigold ointment can also be used to care for post-operative scars and stumps.
The herbal base of calendula ointment is calendula (Calendula officinalis), which originates from the Mediterranean and is cultivated as an ornamental (but also medicinal) plant throughout Europe. The flower is used in herbalism as whole flowers as well as stems and leaves. It is usually harvested from early summer to late autumn.
Marigold contains valuable medicinal substances: essential oils, silicic acid, fats, waxes, saponins, flavonoids, bitter substances, resins, mucilage, organic acids and also partly vitamin C. The active substances also include yellow and red carotenoid dyes, which dissolve well in fats. The totality of these medicinal substances has a disinfectant, anti-inflammatory effect and is very good for healing damaged tissue.
The ointment is based on purified lard (Extracted by hot steam). This is similar in composition to human fat and is very well absorbed into the skin. Lard is a good carrier for the medicinal substances contained in Herbs. And although various synthetic substances are widely used today, nothing can yet replace high-quality lard in ointments.
Marigold ointment also contains genuine Beeswax, which has excellent protective and moisturising properties and which enhances the final quality of the ointment.
It is recommended to store calendula ointment at a temperature of 5 to 25 °C.
